Hello all! It has been a while since I last updated this blog, so I thought I'd condense updates into one. We made it to Upstate New York a few weeks ago and settled in at Laura's parents, Rick and Lisa. From sleeping on a squished down mattress for over two months, we were ready to enjoy some solid sleep and recover from the discomforts of traveling for a few weeks. When we arrived, I felt an urge to start looking for houses that had property (3-5 acres) and a modestly sized home (2-2,500 sqft). There are a bunch of properties like this out there and at a much less cost per square foot compared to Boise. We started taking trips to the surrounding towns like, Oswego, Syracuse, Hamilton, Cazenovia and Utica, to see what these properties actually looked and felt like. I'm Dr. Nate Spangler and I'm traveling across the USA with my wife Laura and my new son Henry. 2020 was a year of great loss balanced by incredible joy. The pandemic, losing my father, nearly losing my businesses, then losing my grandfather, put things into perspective. Ending the suffering of 2020 with a true blessing, the birth of our son, Henry Calvin Spangler! We made the unanimous decision to leave on a long sabbatical this year to not only heal but grow and bond as a family.
